CTSI's Community Health Collaborative Grants Program has released a request for applications, and will fund high-impact research projects involving the University and the broader community. It anticipates awarding $25,000-47,500 per project.

This year the group of volunteers will award grants, start offering access to a new tech incubator, and launch a program that solicits public input about child health needs and device ideas.
CTSI is providing funding and support to Associate Professor Dr. Valerie Pierre, who envisions a cheap, easy-to-use diagnostic tool that could provide a faster way to diagnose bacterial infections.
Initial funding, guidance, and support from CTSI proved such a tool could be feasible, and a subsequent award that’s co-administered by CTSI is now enabling her to develop a prototype.
In July 2014, CTSI’s Office of Discovery and Translation (ODAT) awarded funding and support through its Translational Grant Program to develop a non-invasive lung pacing device that is intended to reduce the length of time patients must be supported with ventilators. The technology was licensed to a University of Minnesota med-tech start-up company that recently acquired $1.9 million in equity financing.
CTSI, in partnership with the University’s Department of Pediatrics and Children’s Hospitals and Clinics of Minnesota, is now accepting applications for its second cycle of the Child Health Collaborative Grant Awards. The groups teamed up in 2014 to create this grant program as part of a broader effort to support research partnerships among community and University child health researchers.
On Monday, Feb. 15, 2016 learn how CTSI is advancing forward, and how its funding programs and expert resources can help bring your discoveries into practice. This informal event is designed to arm University faculty with information on how best to use CTSI to advance their research projects and careers. Hors d’oeuvres and refreshments will be served.

Four research projects have been selected to receive Translational Product Development Fund (TPDF) awards, initially providing up to $50,000 in direct expenses to develop novel therapeutic compounds, devices, diagnostics, or IT products that have the potential to be commercialized. Successful projects will be eligible for additional funding through this program.
CTSI and the Pediatric Device Innovation Consortium (PDIC) have announced the 2015 awardees of its Pediatric Medical Device Translational Grant Program that supports the development of pediatric medical devices with the ultimate goal of improving pediatric patient outcomes and quality of life through technology-driven medical solutions.
CTSI is now accepting applications for three of its 2016 funding and career development programs.
