Community Engagement to Advance Research and Community Health (CEARCH) 
This CTSI function provides expert consultations, assistance finding community partners, grant funding for University-community research collaborations, and resources, tools, and training for conducting community-engaged research.

Contacts and information regarding wide range of research agreements that make it easy for faculty to develop collaborative research contracts with business and industry partners.

Research and Innovation Office (RIO)
Supports business and industry collaborations; relevant units include:

  • Technology Commercialization: Oversees all aspects of technology commercialization at the University, bridging the gap between the lab and the marketplace.
  • The Discovery Launchpad is a startup incubator and program of formal coaching for University of Minnesota researchers interested in forming a startup company to commercialize new technology.
  • Minnesota Innovation Partnerships (MN-IP): Provides assistance for business and industry partners working with the University research community.


iBridge Network
This online community enables University or industry researchers to share ideas, research, and knowledge regarding early-stage technologies and inventions.

Medical Alley
This Minnesota-based trade association provides networking opportunities and insights into current life science trends, regulations, research, and emerging technologies.

Medical Industry Valuation Laboratory
A program of the Medical Industry Leadership Institute in Carlson School of Management, the Medical Industry Valuation Laboratory brings together Carlson faculty and graduate students with industry innovators in need of a top-to-bottom production market analysis of their medical technology and its prospects in the market.
