CTSI Keeps UMN Researchers, Staff Abreast of Research Operations in the New Clinics and Surgery Center
--2nd in a series--
The infrastructure to support clinical research in the new Clinics and Surgery Center, slated to open in late February, is taking shape following substantial work by CTSI throughout 2015 that began with a two-day retreat with the CSC development team to map out the research integration process.
“This work has been productive and as we get closer to the opening of the building, we want to keep members of the research community updated on the progress,” said Lisa Johnson, CTSI’s Clinical and Translational Research Services assistant director and manager of this integration process.
One way CTSI is keeping the research community informed is by releasing a weekly “CSC Research Newsletter,” which began in mid December. The newsletter is planned to be released near the end of each week until the building has been operational for several months. To be added to the Google Group receiving emails about research in the CSC, please send a request to email@example.com.
Secondly, in November CTSI initiated semi-monthly in-person Information Sessions to share important information about research in the CSC in an interactive forum where attendees--live or via webcast--can ask questions. The sessions are also live streamed and recorded for those who cannot attend. Beginning January 11, these sessions will be held 3-4 pm, Mondays in Moos Tower 2-580. The Information Sessions schedule until the CSC opening is:
Jan. 11: Training plan / Epic Training / Building Access plan
Jan. 25: Discovery Experience / StudyFinder / Research Liaison for opening
Feb. 1: Research Visit Workflows / Parking / Interpreters
Feb. 8: Lab / IDS / Supply & Equipment Storage / Transportation
Feb. 15: Information you need to know before the CSC Opens
Research staff members identified to be working in the CSC should have already received registration information for the CSC in-person orientations, slated for mid January through early February. If you will be conducting study visits in the CSC and have yet to receive the registration information, please send a message to firstname.lastname@example.org.
