CTSI Community Health Van
Conduct and disseminate health research in Minnesota with a mobile health van from CTSI. Eligible studies can use the van for free excluding fuel costs.
Applications will be reviewed within four weeks of submission.

- University of Minnesota investigators
- University-community research collaborations
- Community organizations
Studies supported
This mobile health van supports research activities to engage Minnesotans, such as:
- Surveys
- Focus groups
- Biospecimen collection
- Anthropometric measurements
- Similar data collection means
- Collecting and transporting tests (e.g., for COVID-19)
Projects should also:
- Have the potential to significantly impact individual and population health in a concrete and tangible way.
- Contribute to proposals for external grant support for long-term research and evaluation projects.
- Develop and sustain community-University partnerships.

- SECA height and weight scale.
- Wall-mounted desk and four chairs.
- Internet connectivity (Hotspot supporting up to 15 devices).
- Sphygmomanometer for blood pressure measurement (Omron HEM-705CPN).
- Powered wheelchair lift.
- Gas-powered generator with external power ports for powering equipment in the van.
- Overhead ventilation.
- Thermostat to regulate temperature in the van.
- Private space for data collection and/or one-on-one interviews.
- Space to accommodate a stationary bike or small treadmill.
Cost
- Twin Cities metro area: Free for intermittent use; excludes fuel.
- Greater Minnesota: Charged mileage at the current federal rate.
