Health Equity

The University of Minnesota Center for Health Equity was established in 2009 as one of 20 NIH designated Comprehensive Center of Excellence in Minority Health and Health Disparities aimed at creating an informed, empowered, and activated community to improve the health of populations with the goal of health equity.

The Center for Health Equity (CHE) was integrated into the University of Minnesota Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) beginning in 2012 and provided workshops, training, and seminars for University and community researchers, as well as collaborations with community organizations on research projects. Unfortunately, the CHE program closed in 2017 when the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities grant program was defunded.
