Biostatistics
CTSI provides easy, ready, and efficient access to biostatistical expertise, collaboration, and support for clinical and translational research conducted at the University of Minnesota and in the community. Biostatistics staff members work as part of multidisciplinary teams who participate in study design, data collection, management, interim monitoring, and data analysis for clinical translational science conducted at the University of Minnesota and in the community.
The Biostatistical Design and Analysis Center (BDAC) provides expertise in the design, conduct, and analysis of clinical translational research. Services include:
- study design
- grant proposal preparation and collaboration
- protocol review
- statistical analysis
- clinical trial monitoring
- data management
- manuscript preparation and review
Referral System
The Biostatistics team uses a referral system to connect investigators with additional services across the University of Minnesota according to project needs and resources.
- The Coordinating Centers for Biometric Research (CCBR) specializes in large multicenter or network clinical trials.
- The Health Survey Research Center supports and coordinates survey data collection, data processing, and participant handling.
- The Research Data Assistance Center (ResDAC) provides assistance to researchers interested in using Medicare and/or Medicaid data.
- Faculty in the School of Public Health Division of Biostatistics have specialized areas of interest and expertise, including statistical genetics, latent variable modeling, hierarchical and Bayesian modeling, sequential analysis, and advanced survival analysis.
- Faculty throughout the University with specialized statistical expertise.
