Pilot Funding
Current Pilot Funding Opportunities
Translational Research Grants move concepts developed from basic work to clinical testing.
AHC Faculty Research Development Grants facilitate bench-to-bedside translation.
AHC Faculty Seed Grants provide support for new initiatives in a faculty member's research.
Minnesota Partnership for Biotechnology and Medical Genomics, a partnership with Mayo Clinic, funds collaborative research projects, infrastructure investments, and very early stage commercialization efforts.
The Center for Translational Medicine (CTM) supports the translation of discoveries by UMN investigators into phase I studies.
CTSI aims to foster collaborative and translational research by providing pilot funding that will:
- Facilitate bench-to-bedside translation by extending novel method applications into new research areas.
- Assist investigators in generating preliminary data to increase competitiveness for extramural funding.
- Foster community-based research for partnership grants focusing on healthcare organizations and rural, special, and community populations, and child health.
- Increase the likelihood for successful transition from NIH career development (K) awards to independent investigator research (R) awards through pilot funds to selected scholars identified in a UMN-wide competition.
