Community Engagement
Building meaningful relationships and healthy communities.
What is Community Engagement?
"Community Engagement is the process of working collaboratively with and through groups of people affiliated by geographic proximity, special interest, or similar situations to address issues affecting the well-being of those people." -- From the Principles of Community Engagement, CDC, 1997.
CTSI follows the University of Minnesota's Guidance Statement on the Performance of Community-Based Research, which outlines best practices for respectful and productive relationships with our community partners.
Community Engagement at CTSI
CTSI's main goal is to improve the health of our communities through clinical translational science research.
We are committed to working with our communities to achieve this goal, and have established the Office of Community Engagement for Health to move our work forward together.
