About Us
The mission of the Clinical and Translational Science Institute (CTSI) is to improve the health of our communities by integrating the University's Academic Health Center and other University resources with community partners to create a comprehensive statewide network for clinical and translational science.
CTSI aims to:
- Collaborate with communities to improve health through an engaged scholarship model that focuses on research important to our communities,
- Meet investigator needs for clinical and translational research services through a service-oriented research platform, and
- Educate the next generation of clinical translational science research teams and provide career development in conducting CTS research, developing collaborative, interdisciplinary work groups, and implementing findings into practice settings.
CTSI resources include:
Clinical Translational Research Services, providing key tools for successful clinical and translational research;
Office of Community Engagement for Health;
funding for groundbreaking pilot studies;
Office of Discovery and Translation; and
Education, Training and Research Career Development Program.
Vision
CTSI will improve the health of Minnesotans through clinical translational science (CTS) research by creating an infrastructure and environment that transforms the relationships among the University of Minnesota, the community, and the state; forging a true partnership to facilitate CTS discovery, translation, and knowledge dissemination; training and rewarding interdisciplinary teams to meet community and University needs; creating relevant, distance-accessible educational programming; and identifying changing community needs and ultimate impact on people's health.
